I would like to remind you of the WSSG. The badminton tournament will be held Aug. 3 in Tacoma, run by Joe Moelders. www.pugetsoundgames.com. This will be the qualification tournament if you want to go to the National Senior Olympics in San Francisco in '09.

After several of us having tried for about 10 years to get the World Huntsman Games in St. George to include badminton, they are finally going to give it a try this year! The Games will be held from Oct. 6-18, with badminton Oct. 13-14. This will be Utah's State Games, so it will also be a qualifying event for the National Senior Olympics. So, if you are unable to make the WSSG tournament on August 3, you could qualify for Nationals in St. George. Or, you could play and qualify in both. I have been to the Huntsman Games several times, and it's a wonderful experience! They do a great job. I hope that a lot of you will be able to support it. To have one of their entry brochures mailed to you, you can call the toll free # 800-562-1268 or their website is www.seniorgames.net. If you DO decide to enter the Huntsman Games, there is a space on the entry form that says "Bring a Buddy". It's for those who've never entered the Huntsman Games before to put in the name of the person who has entered before and told them about it, and that person will receive a $10 gift certificate for the gift shop. I'd appreciate it if you would put my name in that space. I hope that a lot of you will attend and support it. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Thanks again for supporting the Northwest Senior Games -- Joyce Jones
